What is Kava?

Whether you have heard about the amazing benefits of kava or you are just now hearing about it, Kava is for everyone. Kava is a plant from the Ploynesian islands from the pepper family. It is a root from a shrub with heart shaped leaves that grows in tropical environments. It has a long and storied history in the western pacific like Fiji, Polynesia, and even Hawai’i. This medicinal plant has long been a drink for social gatherings, rituals, and cemerimonies. Some people use Kava as a replacement for alchol due to its similarites like relaxation, calmness, less anxiety, less stress, and more social confidence.

How Is Kava Made?

Our team here at Elixir Lounge makes our kava by laboriously kneeding the pre-ground authentic Fijian powder that we get from top of our line suppliers. As a result, the remnants leave a very earthy and bitter flavor. Our quality equipment and confidential process create the best kava in Texas.

Typically, we serve our kava with few more ingredients to counteract the bitterness. Usually, we pair it with all natural sweeteners, juices, and milks per customers request. This combination of tastes results in the beverage being more drinkable for some. Whether your a kava connoisseur or you like to try new flavors we can make your kava experience any way you like it

Different kinds of kava

With any amount of research you will find that there are hundreds of different variations of kava. Here at the Elixir lounge we typically carry 3-4 “house” strains of kava. our favorite house strain is Solomon gold which is a crowd favorite its very much a mix of mind and body most people describe it as soothing. We try to carry strains such as Togan, Vanutau, Moi and micronized powder. There are also other forms of kava can come in such as capsules, tinctures, extracts, and can drinks all of which can find in our botanicals
