Elixir Lounge is a fully alcohol-free bar in Old Town Spring, and everything people love about bar night is here. The drinks are just different.

What Is Kava?

Kava is a root from Piper methysticum, a plant in the pepper family native to South Pacific islands like Fiji and Tonga, where it has been shared at social gatherings and ceremonies for thousands of years. The root is ground, kneaded with water, and strained, then traditionally served in a half coconut shell. The taste is earthy and peppery, so we'll happily set you up with something sweet or fruity on the side — though a few brave regulars prefer it straight up. Learn more on our What Is Kava page.

All the Ritual, None of the Alcohol

A great bar night has its own rhythm: ordering a round for the table, raising a toast, settling in for a long conversation. Kava culture has all of that, plus a few traditions of its own — clap once, say "Bula!", and drink your shell, then clap three times and say "Maca!" when you're done. And because there's no alcohol involved, there's no hangover waiting for you in the morning, and no worries about the drive home.

A Different Kind of Bar Scene

Instead of blaring music and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds, you'll find a laid-back tiki atmosphere, board games, live events, and regulars who'll happily make room for a newcomer.
